Dear Colleagues,
The North Carolina Community College Faculty Association (NCCCFA) has long served as a vital voice for faculty across our state, advocating for shared governance, professional development, and the strength of our community college system.
Today, we are at a pivotal moment.
Due to recent leadership changes and the conclusion of current board members’ terms of service, the organization urgently needs committed individuals to step forward and assume leadership roles on the Executive Board. Without new leadership in place by October 2026, the NCCCFA will be forced to dissolve.
We recognize that stepping into leadership, especially at a statewide level, is a significant commitment. Ideally, we are seeking individuals with experience in:
Leading or managing member-based organizations
Working with executive boards and committees
Coordinating regional or statewide initiatives
Supporting large, engaged membership communities
Engaging with lawmakers to advocate for faculty pay and outcomes
That said, more than anything, we are looking for people who care deeply about faculty voices and the future of our profession.
You will not be stepping in alone. Remaining board members are fully committed to helping new leaders transition smoothly, sharing institutional knowledge, and supporting the continued mission of the NCCCFA.
If you believe in the importance of a strong faculty presence across North Carolina, this is a moment to consider how you might contribute.
To express interest or ask questions, please contact John Etheridge via email at jretheridge@waketech.edu.
This is a critical opportunity to ensure the continuation of an organization that has supported faculty across our state for years. We hope you will consider stepping forward.
With appreciation and urgency,
The Remaining NCCCFA Executive Board
